Location: SayPro Office
Reports To: Marketing Manager
Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Job Overview:

SayPro is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Visual Content Curator to join our marketing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to create or select appropriate images, videos, and infographics that complement and enhance the written content on the SayPro website and across all other marketing channels. As a Visual Content Curator, you will ensure that all visual assets align with SayPro’s branding and messaging, helping to elevate the user experience and improve engagement.

This role requires a deep understanding of how visual elements can effectively communicate complex ideas, evoke emotions, and increase audience interaction. You’ll work closely with the content team, marketing team, and designers to ensure that visual content supports and enhances the overall marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and Select Visual Content:
    • Image Creation: Develop custom visuals, including graphics, illustrations, and photos that align with the tone and purpose of the content on the SayPro website and other marketing channels. You should create visually appealing images that can easily convey complex concepts or evoke specific emotions related to the posts.
    • Video Content: Edit, produce, or source videos to complement articles, blog posts, and other written content. This could include short promotional videos, explainer videos, or tutorials that enhance the user’s understanding of the material presented on SayPro’s platforms.
    • Infographics: Design infographics to visually represent data, processes, and trends. Infographics should simplify complicated information and make it digestible and engaging for the audience. You’ll ensure that infographics follow SayPro’s brand guidelines and are visually cohesive with other content.
  2. Visual Content Strategy Alignment:
    • Ensure that all visual content supports SayPro’s overall marketing strategy, maintaining consistency in terms of color schemes, typography, and messaging.
    • Align visual content with the objectives of specific campaigns, particularly those related to SayPro Monthly SCMR-4 reports and SayPro Quarterly Post updates. For example, create visuals that highlight key takeaways from these reports or make complex data points more digestible for a broader audience.
    • Work with the content creation team to ensure that visuals enhance, not overwhelm, the accompanying written material. Images should be used to complement and clarify, rather than distract from, the message.
  3. Brand Consistency:
    • Maintain a consistent visual identity across all marketing channels, ensuring that images, videos, and infographics align with the SayPro brand’s look and feel. This includes adherence to brand guidelines in terms of logo usage, color palette, font choices, and overall aesthetic.
    • Curate visuals that reflect SayPro’s values and core messaging, ensuring that every piece of visual content reinforces the brand’s voice and tone.
  4. User-Centric Visual Design:
    • Understand the needs of SayPro’s target audience and curate visual content that enhances their understanding of the subject matter. Visuals should support the written content by making it easier to absorb, clarify key points, or highlight important takeaways.
    • Create visuals that cater to both desktop and mobile users, ensuring that all images and videos are responsive and optimized for various screen sizes.
  5. Visual Storytelling:
    • Develop visual content that tells a compelling story. Visuals should not just be decorative but should drive the narrative forward, engage the audience, and invoke a response. This includes storytelling through video content, sequential images, or motion graphics.
    • Use visuals to break down complex concepts into easily digestible formats, such as step-by-step diagrams, animated sequences, or other storytelling devices.
  6. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    • Work closely with the content team to ensure that the visuals complement the written content. Regularly communicate with writers to understand the narrative and ensure the visual elements support it effectively.
    • Coordinate with the marketing and design teams to ensure that all visuals are optimized for use across different channels, including the website, social media, email campaigns, and presentations.
  7. Content Performance Analysis:
    • Analyze the performance of visual content to determine which images, videos, or infographics resonate most with your audience. Use tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and user engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of visual assets.
    • Use the performance data to improve future visual content and make data-driven decisions about the types of visuals that engage SayPro’s audience the most.
  8. Content Management and Organization:
    • Organize and maintain a library of visual assets, ensuring easy access and efficient usage by the content and marketing teams. This includes naming conventions, categorization, and storing all assets in a central location.
    • Ensure that all visual content is appropriately licensed, adhering to copyright laws and securing permissions when necessary for third-party images, videos, or graphics.
  9. Stay Current with Visual Trends:
    • Keep up-to-date with current visual content trends, including new design styles, animation techniques, and video production practices. Ensure that SayPro’s visual content remains fresh, innovative, and relevant to the audience.
    • Experiment with new formats, such as interactive visuals, 360-degree images, or augmented reality (AR) experiences, to push the boundaries of how visual content can be used to engage audiences.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Digital Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in visual content creation, digital media design, or a similar role. Experience with content curation or visual design in a marketing or digital environment is highly desirable.
  • Design Skills: Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro), Canva, or other design software. Experience with video editing and motion graphics software is a plus.
  • Visual Storytelling: Strong understanding of how to communicate messages visually and the ability to use design principles effectively to convey information in an engaging way.
  • Creative Thinking: A highly creative individual with the ability to think outside the box and experiment with new visual formats to enhance storytelling.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for detail, with the ability to identify small but impactful design changes that can significantly improve the final output.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the content and marketing teams to ensure visual assets align with content goals and brand messaging.

Desirable Traits:

  • A keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest trends in visual content creation, design, and digital marketing.
  • A passion for creating compelling visual stories that captivate and engage audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt visuals to different formats and purposes.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Health benefits (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Opportunities for career development and growth within the company
  • Flexible work environment
